Protest of Flowers at War Memorials

Families with former and serving members of the armed forces placed flowers at the Burton war memorial today, in memory of Drummer Lee Rigby, the soldier murdered in Woolwich on 22 May 2013.

The murder of Lee Rigby, a serving soldier, in Woolwich on 22 May 2013, sent a shock wave through the country, especially within families who have members serving in the military forces. By placing flowers at every war memorial throughout the country we hope to show both that we support our armed service personnel wherever they may be based, and that terrorism in any form will not bring us down.

Anyone who would like to support the campaign is asked to lay flowers at the war memorial. The campaign's webpage may be found here: www.facebook.com/events/148533981999928/
